Your Pavers Don't Need Replacing. They Need Rescuing.

Weeds in the joints, sunken edges gone green, colors flattened under years of grime — every one of those problems is reversible. Full paver restoration costs a fraction of replacement and looks nearly identical to a brand-new install.

The Three-Stage Rescue for Weathered Paver Surfaces

Brick pavers are engineered to last fifty years — but the sand between them isn't. As joint sand washes out, weeds move in, edges shift, and the whole surface starts reading as "old." Add algae film and UV-flattened color, and homeowners start pricing replacement for a surface that's structurally fine.

Restoration attacks each failure directly. Stage one is a deep professional cleaning that strips algae, grime, and embedded stains from the paver faces and blasts the failing sand out of every joint. Stage two re-sands the entire surface with polymeric sand — a modern joint material that hardens when activated, locking pavers in place and sealing weeds and ants out of the joints for years. Stage three applies a professional sealer that revives the pavers' original color depth and shields everything from stains, fading, and Michigan freeze-thaw.

The finished surface doesn't look cleaned. It looks installed last week — for roughly a tenth of what replacement would run.

Three Stages, One Transformed Surface

Deep Clean

Commercial surface cleaning strips organic growth and grime from paver faces and purges failed sand from every joint — the reset everything else builds on.

Polymeric Re-Sand

Joints are refilled with polymer-modified sand, compacted, and activated to cure into a firm, weed-blocking, ant-proof bond that locks the field tight.

Seal & Protect

Professional sealer deepens color, adds your choice of natural or enhanced finish, and armors the surface against stains, UV fade, and freeze-thaw damage.

Where it applies

Patios, Walkways, Driveways — and the Pool Deck Too

Any interlocking paver surface qualifies: backyard patios that have hosted a decade of summers, front walkways that set your home's first impression, paver driveways carrying real vehicle load, and pool surrounds where joint sand loss becomes a barefoot hazard.

During your estimate we'll assess the base as well — minor settling and edge creep can often be corrected during restoration, and we'll tell you honestly if any section needs a hardscaper's structural attention instead of a wash-and-seal.

Paver Restoration FAQs

How much does paver restoration cost versus replacement?

Typically a small fraction — full restoration (clean, re-sand, seal) generally runs about a tenth of what demolition and new installation would cost, with visually comparable results. Your estimate itemizes each stage so you can see exactly where the value sits.

What is polymeric sand and why does it matter?

It's joint sand blended with polymer binders that hardens after activation with water. Unlike regular sand, it doesn't wash out, weeds can't root in it, and ants can't excavate through it — which means the restoration holds for years instead of one season.

How long does the restored surface last?

The polymeric joints typically hold five to ten years; sealer refreshes every three to five keep the color and stain protection at full strength. Compare that to annual weeding and re-sanding of unsealed pavers, and restoration is the lower-maintenance path by a wide margin.

Can you fix sunken or shifted pavers?

Minor settling and edge drift can often be corrected during the restoration process. Significant base failure — large sunken areas or drainage-driven movement — needs structural relaying, and we'll identify that honestly during your estimate rather than sealing over a problem.
