Ninety-eight percent of Addison Township is rural, which makes it one of the least-developed townships in Oakland County and one of the most pleasant places we work. Horse farms, acreage parcels, and lake lots on Lakeville Lake and the smaller waters share the landscape with the Village of Leonard at the crossroads, and the properties out here are built around animals and land rather than curb appeal alone. Gravel is the operating condition. The road network is largely unpaved, and the dust it sheds settles onto siding, barn steel, windows, and vehicles all summer long as a fine mineral film that a garden hose only smears into mud streaks. The housing splits by generation. Original farmhouses and rural homes carry wood siding and old paint that wash on gentle terms, with condition reads done before anything is quoted.
